There is no Heaven on Earth

Sudan a place of never ending war and terror between the north and south has affected many villages and groups of people. One of the most badly impacted where the Dinka. Their tribe was attacked with bombs and guns. They captured the girls but thousands of young men and boys escaped. The boys that escaped where lost with nothing no parents anything they where called the lost boys. They went on a long journey and thousands of them died of starvation and natural predators. After being rejected by Ethiopia they went to Kenya into a refugee camp. One of the many boys that survived was peter. He was chosen to go to America and become something more and help Sudan.

He and many other boys thought that it would be like heaven on earth. But America came with many problems. When they got there they where over whelmed with everything that was there. America was so much more high tech. When they got there where helped by some people that had empathy for them. They boys had to work and go to school at the same time. Peter faced problems with assimilating to America because of all the stereotypes. There in America the black people where seen as the bad guys and that is why peter found it hard because he was not like all the other black people. Peter also had problems with money it was all so new and he had to pay rent. Some of the customs like holding hands where not acceptable in America so they had to stop and try to pick up on their customs.

After a while of living in America he decided that he wanted to get and education so he moved away from all his friends and brother and he moved to Kansas. There he went to a high school and he made a couple of friends of different cultures and he was doing well. But he did have his own problems. He had to make money and go to school at the same school at the same time. But because he made friends it helped him assimilateProxy-Connection: keep-alive

uch better. Peter also had to help Sudan back home so he also had to send back money so that was hard to for him. One of the biggest problems he had to face was he has a lone he had to go to school, work, cook his own food, and do his homework. He was under a lot of pressure and stress. But in the end after a year of hard work he managed to make it and he could take a test and study. But peter needed a lot of time to adjust to America.
